1967 Boston Whaler Sakonnet + Tee Nee Trailer
These boats were the unsinkable legends often seen on the TV show Flipper. The blue interior and cathedral hull made these the ultimate center console before there were center consoles. This setup is the fishing model.
This original whaler was an upstate New York fresh water boat for all of its life, but mostly it resided in a heated garage, rarely getting wet.
I have had the boat for 4 years and have restored her to like-new condition: new pad set, powder coated alumahoy steering wheel, trailer, replaced gas tanks with brand new Moeller tanks, renewed the engine, and restored the original red Ritchie compass.
This boat has dual engines, both two-stroke Johnsons: a 90 horsepower, and 9.9 trolling motor. Both run strong. I have clocked this boat at 51 mph with my iPhone speedometer.
The hull has bottom paint only. The rest is factory gel coat. This unit comes with the rear seat (not shown), the impossible to find rod box, and a full canvas top and bow spray.
This comes with the original Wm.J.Mills & Co canvas strapping, covers and restored bows. All of the canvas is original and in perfect, like-new condition, with a new clear plastic window. The off white covers are made by TaylorMade.
The boat has every option: tachometer, twin tailor made spot lights (front and rear), Kainer mooring light and alumicraft steering wheel and cap.
The kicker bracket is also original for the boat, and is an impossible rarity to find.
The wood interior is new mahagony, ordered from Specialty Marine.
All wiring is done to marine grade specifications, installed by a professional fitter.
It has the original plastic 1967 white battery box.
The boat comes with an additional Min Kota electric kicker motor, full boat canvas cover and is ready to go right now.
Draft: 9 inches. Hull ID number36808, length 16.7 feet, beam 6.2 feet, fuel capacity 22 gallons.
1967 Tee Nee Trailer
The trailer is a 1967 Tee Nee that came with the boat. It has been completely refastened with stainless brackets and bolts. The trailer has been powder coated in the original color. The original Ditton wench has been rebuilt completely, and powder coated. The axle and spring set are new, as are the rims, tires and tongue. It has new wiring harness and NOS antique tail lights.
The bunks are new, made from the original pattern, and instead of the stock carpet, have slicks made out of nylon. They are fastened with counter sunk stainless steel screws.
