The AV model has the workhorse lower unit of the 140HP engine and was designed for high torque. This engine has enough power to plane off easily with 4 adults and a tank of gas. It is the ideal boat to use in the bays and lakes for fishing or just spending the day on the water. The SL model was only produced for two years and is considered the predecessor to the Dauntless model. What makes this the ideal Whaler is it ease of handling on the water but also how effortless it is to trailer. It also has a BUILT IN GAS TANK under the floor with an access panel so you are not stepping over or around a gas tank in the back of the boat. There is a gas gauge to see how little fuel you are using with the four stroke engine.Another feature this has over the other Boston Whaler models is PLENTY of STORAGE.
