Restored classic 1981 Boston Whaler Outrage 20 for sale - $28,000After a complete restoration and 15 years of great family memories, our classic 1981 Boston Whaler 20 Outrage is for sale. 1981 was one of the last years Boston Whaler produced the Outrage with teak gunnels and her classic lines and good looks always turn heads. These boats are rare and finding one in original configuration with twins that is well-maintained makes this boat truly unique.This boat has been restored over two years with an attention to detail that ignored cost and time. Her bristol condition is proof no expense was spared in the process. She is powered by twin 90 hp. Johnson two-strokes, in keeping with the original design and configuration of 1981. (180 hp was max horsepower rating for this year). The engines, like the boat, have been meticulously maintained and all receipts and records will convey to the new owner. Jim Linder, a trained OMC master mechanic and owner of Palmetto Marine, has managed all engine work since the she returned to the low country and will verify all service records. Rod and the team at Charleston Trailer have performed all service on the trailer. Initially outfitted with twin 75 hp Johnsons, the third owner had the same dealer repower her with twin fuel injected, v-four 90s that deliver max hull power and incredible performance (planes in less than 3 seconds). To the best of my knowledge, she has never been stored wet and always kept dry on a rack or trailer.As the fourth owners, shortly after we purchased the boat we began a "deck off" restoration that included new electronics, new wiring including two battery banks and two Perko switches, a new Pacific tandem-axel trailer, Mills Canvas Bimini top (OEM canvas), new cushions with original style fabric from Lee (OEM upholstery), new hoses, drains, fittings, and replaced the under-deck plywood and fiberglass below the console. In 2018 we began our second restoration with the intent to sell her when complete.
