I have a classic 1978 Boston Whaler Montauk for sale. It's essentially totally original, even with the original depth finder. The motor is a 1982 Johnson 70hp. It sits on a very nice aluminum trailer that's probably only seen the water 20 times.This Montauk originally came from the Great Lakes, and my family purchased it almost 20 years ago after the owner moved it down to Florida. It has been garage-kept for its entire life, with the exception of the last year or so. Everything on the boat is completely original, with the exception of the cooler seat, throttle cables and steering cables. It comes with a custom-fit canvas boat cover and a bimini top that I don't think has ever been used.The entire package has been exceptionally well maintained, and there is little that is needed to make it perfect.The boat originally came with a custom cover that used grommets and snaps installed around the hull, and 4 of those snaps have rusted out and will need to be repaired and some point. Two of the little plastic connectors for the bimini top will need to be replaced and there is some random pitting in some of the bright work. The bilge pump and the sender for the trolling speedometer will need to be replaced. Also the radio was removed because it quit working, but the wiring and antenna are still in place. This is a 38 year old boat so there are some small blemishes here and there.The model # of the outboard is J70ELCNB and has very low hours for the year. There is no tilt, as it came that way from the factory. This engine is essentially bulletproof and very reliable. It has been meticulously maintained since new, and runs great. It is a very simple engine to work on.The boat is located in Ormond Beach,FL and the buyer will need to arrange all logistics regarding pick up or delivery. I will require a $1,000 deposit via PayPal within 24 hours of the auction ending. Final payment will be either cash (in person) or a certified check which must clear the bank before I will release the boat.
