1985 Boston Whaler 17 Montauk (17 foot) and Seminole Trailer. If you are looking for a perfect 17 foot head turning classic Montauk look no further, as this effectively single owner boat is ideal for yourself on the bay, open water or to teach your kids seamanship. This boat has only had two owners, where my father purchased directly from the first owner who was a marine biologist at the University of Miami. She put very few hours on the boat in the bay over the first two years, and we ran roughly 1,000 hours though not reflected on the gauge that stopped working at 285 hours [**NOTE the original Evinrude 90 needs to be replaced/re-powered]. Since 1987 the boat has been kept in an air conditioned garage and meticulously cared for with a minimum 3 hour wash and detail after each trip and re-teaking of the wood every few years. As you will see we have added several upgrades over the years including stainless steel upgrades for dive tanks, rod holders, console dry box, removable standing platform in rear for fishing, relocation of two new 2020 marine batteries into the console, and most notable is the new custom reverse-able seating with a 40 gallon tank that on a two stroke will make any trip last.The excellent boat and trailer condition speaks for itself, but within the last year the boat unfortunately was damaged slightly on the starboard bow after hitting a piling at idle speed. Repairs were quoted at $600, but no other cracking or issues are visible or have been of concern on the meticulously kept vessel without corrosion. Electronics need to be updated, as the vessel is bring sold as is with the original lowrance gps plotter and radio. This has been a prized family boat treated like a family member that we must pass along as we have opted for a larger option given the need to re-power the original 90 evinrude that currently is mounted with a functional jackplate but recently died per our long standing mechanic.The sale also includes a seminole trailer (350 lbs) that we replaced bearings and springs on religiously, along with a spare tire and full boat cover.
