Boston Whaler

1971 Boston Whaler 13' Sport model. Unique boat, first year Boston Whaler made the smirked hull design with the blue interior and 15" transom. Boston Whaler only produced the 13' in this configuration for one year.The boat has been my winter project, took me 9 months to finish, originally planned to keep it but decided I wanted a larger boat.No expense was spared on supplies. The gelcoat on the sides was sanded down to bare fiber glass, small repairs were done to the fiberglass on the exterior hull. Inside of the boat was sanded down, the deck was down to bare fiberglass. Small areas of wet foam was found when sanding, we immediately dug out all of the wet foam we could find and refoamed it with closed cell pour foam, layered bondo over it and fiberglassed over that and then resined the deck. The hull is DRY, and completely sealed up so no more water can get in. When all the sanding and fiberglass work was done we resined the bare fiberglass and used "TotalBoat Wet Edge Topside Paint: Boston Whaler Blue", which is a thick one-part, high gloss polyurethane topside finish. Several layers of the paint was done to the interior. We then regelcoated the exterior hull with "TotalBoat Isophthalic White". Once we finished gel coating it we bottom painted it with "Interlux Antifouling 'Black' Bottom Paint". The entire project has been documented with pictures.The boat is in mint condition for its year, comes with refinished interior wood work, bow light, steering gear, a battery, a great tailer and a good electric start 1988 Yamaha 25HP Longshaft motor. Motor was professionally rebuilt last summer, has practically all new parts, the warranty just expired.Refinished the boat to keep it but decided it is a bit small for what I want to do. Really is a great little boat, awesome for young kids and bombing around a lake.I would like the boat gone quick so I can upgrade to a larger one.
