Boston Whaler

1987 Boston Whaler 13 Sport, with original 40 hp Johnson - runs strong. Until last summer, this boat had never been used in salt water having reportedly lived on the Connecticut River for its entire life. I bought this Boston Whaler to use with my kids around the island in front of our house. Unfortunately, they prefer playing on the beach and swimming, to other waterborne activities. I only had it on the mooring for about 6 weeks last summer, and just launched it last weekend for this summer. When purchased, I took it completely apart and refinished all of the wood, replaced the rub rail, front bow light and rear mast light in high quality stainless steel (purchased from Specialty Marine - highest quality BW parts https://www.specialtymarine.com) installed new cables for controls, rebuilt both carbs, replaced prop, new water pump and thermostat, spark plugs, and installed a new tilt motor this year, etc. The trailer is in fantastic shape with lights new last year. Boston Whaler are considered the safest boat for both kids (and adults), stable, unsinkable, low gunnels for easy entrance from the water (helps for me too!). This boat flies - I cant even open it up unless it is dead calm. It brings back a lot of good summer memories boating with friends on the North Shore. Very easy to manhandle due to its size and low weight. I can bring it right to the beach and launch it again myself, if the tide moves out. The boat and trailer are registered and insured. I hate to see it go, but I dont get much opportunity to use it, and no one else in the family has an appetite for boating! BW doesnt make this model anymore, and they are certainly becoming more and more collectible - especially, original examples like this one with hulls that are light and dry. No wavy sides on this example.
