Up for sale is a 1972 13 4 Boston Whaler Sport with a 2011 Yamaha 4 stroke 20hp motor. This boat has been in our extended family for 22 years, and no expense has been spared in its upkeep. The restoration and service on the boat has been well documented since the mid-90s, with records and receipts of over $11,000 spent in that time. You might as well buy one thats already top-notch instead of having to sink a fortune into a lesser boat to bring it up to this level!
As you probably know, the 13-footer is the original Boston Whaler boat the one that started it all. Unsinkable and nearly indestructible, the 13-foot Whaler became the most successful recreational boat of all time. This is your chance to pick up a beautiful 46-year old piece of history in great condition. The boat is currently located in Northern Georgia, and may never have been in salt water; definitely fresh water use only since it we purchased it in 1996.
Here are a few of the highlights:
A brand new 20hp Yamaha F20PLR 4 stroke motor replaced an older 25 horse Merc in the spring of 2011. The boat has barely been used since then - the Yamaha has less than 15 hours on it! Just check out the photos; - its basically still a new motor. Installed in the cockpit at the same time was a $500 set of Yamaha controls for the motor. Although some might think they need more horsepower, this Yamaha is quiet and economical, and gets the boat up on plane easily. Its perfect for inland lakes & reservoirs, as well as bodies of water where there are motor size limits.
A really nice ventilated snap-on boat cover was custom made for it in 2010. It includes internal stand-offs that raise the cover off the boat, and protects the motor as well.
40lb thrust Minn Kota Maxxum trolling motor with deep cycle battery.
Holsclaw trailer with Bearing Buddies and good tires including spare.
The varnished mahogany console is in great original condition; mahogany seats and hinged rear cover panels were replaced in 97, along with stainless steel fasteners.
New oars and 2 sets of oarlocks from Bucks Bags in 2010.
Downrigger base & brackets; mini compass, battery charger, Humminbird Wide Optic fish finder, Garmin GPS bracket, lunch anchor kit, boat cushions, fire extinguisher, battery box map light & lighter, etc.
We would prefer to sell boat, motor, and trailer as a package, but wed entertain offers for the boat and trailer without motor, or for the motor on its own.
