We've been on the boat all summer long and it's running great just like it always. We bought the boat a few years back from the original owners (elderly, retired, couple) and it's been nothing but good to us. We're selling our Bayliner because we recently purchased a summer home near TraverseCity, MI that allows us to keep our larger boat permanently docked in the water (i.e. we no longer need atrailer-ablevessel).
In the past month we've put in a brand new Richie compass ($150), a brand new Lowrance Mark-4 (pictured above) GPS/Fish Finding/Depth Sounding unit ($500 with professional installation), 5 brand new Good Year Class-D rated trailer tired (including a spare - $750), andput in a brand new OEM fuel filter and did an engine systemflush ($100). The boat also has two newerdeepcyclemarine batteries with a battery relay switch (this prevents your batteries from being drained and allows them both to charged while the boat is operating). It had an oil change done last season ($120) and the bellows were replaced right before we purchased the boat ($2,200 - very expensive/important/a huge safety feature). This boat was professionally bottom-painted prior to us purchasing it ($1,000). We put brand new props on that are in perfect condition ($1,200).A new microwave was purchased less than 2 years ago ($100).The factory trailer is included!
The gasgauge sometimes floats aroundand the factory depth sounder screen is cloudy (the electronics behind it are working, but the screen is unreadable. Just refer to the brand new GPS/fish finder/depth sounding unit). There are chips in some of the cupboards (touch-up paint would do wonders) and not all of them stay closed properly. The trailer works great (i.e. trailer brakes and lights work), but could use a little TLC aesthetically. The boat does not have an hour gauge, but we're estimating approx. 300 hours to the best of our knowledge (original owner told us ~ 200 hours). We can't seem to locate the shelves for the fridge, but the fridge and everything else inside the cabin properly work. The "covers" are missing a few snaps, there is a little bit of shrinkage due to the natural cold/hot temperature fluctuationin Michigan, and there are some tears/ripping on the camper cover/enclosure (not the bimini top... that goes up very easily/is in great condition). The rub rails could use some attention (changing these by yourself is relatively cheap and would make the boat look great!) and the windshield wiper could be replaced (it works as it is, but it would look good to replace). The hull has pressure cracks and a couple areas where the canopy snaps have came out. There are some a few cushions down below in the galley that are starting to "thin-up." This "thinning" is taking place in a non-noticeable area, but I did want you to be made aware beforehand. The ship-to-shore radio works, but the antenna tip is broken. It works fine, but a new antenna would run approx $50.
Like I mentioned earlier, the boat is not in perfect condition due to normal wear and tear for it's age, but it is reliable, safe, and still turns plenty of heads! This boat new, in today's dollars, would be over $60,000! Similar boats are selling on Boattrader.com and other similar sites for $16,000 - $22,000 without all of the expensive updates/repairs ours has. I'm expecting this boat to sell for over $15,000 (*fingers crossed*), but I did keep the reserve low to insure the integrity of a real auction.
