We are an RV dealer in the mountains of Western Maryland. You are looking at a non-RV that we took on trade towards an RV. It is a privately-owned unit that was traded in to our dealership - it is NOT something we bought at an auction, it is NOT a repo, it is NOT a salvage piece. We avoid items like those, for the same reason you do - you just don't know what you're getting. But if a customer wants to trade an item like this in, towards an RV purchase...well...equity is equity, and if we think we can sell it, we'll take it on trade!

This Bayliner is a nice clean older boat. I say "older" because in RV terms, a '96 is "older" to us. It may be different for boats though, I'm not sure. We're - as it says above - an RV dealer in the mountains of Maryland and we took this Bayliner on trade towards an RV purchase. It was a private party trade, and it's in nice shape overall. The owner was straight with us - he hadn't used it in a couple years. We got it here, the trailer is in great shape but may want new tires before too long. We hooked it up to a battery booster, put water muffs on the drive, and started the engine. It runs nicely, throttles up and down like it should, the drive tilts like it should,but you can tell it hasn't been run in a while. The fuel is old, and the battery is stone-dead,but the engine revs nicely and doesn't make any bad noises. I think if you change the fuel, tune it, give it an oil change and a fresh battery...you'll be ready to hit the waves! We haven't seen any oil leaks or wet spots on the engine, it looks to be in good shape other than having just sat for a while.The cabin / deck areas are in nice shape - no big rips in the vinyl, carpeting looks good, cushions look good, glass looks good. The bimini top looks good, with no rips but it could use a good cleaning if you want to get the spots out of it. And, the boat comes with some PFD's, lines, various random bits that the owner just didn't need since he was getting rid of the boat.The hull looks nice, too - no big gouges or scrapes, nice and clean and shiny. We're told it was freshwater, and given the lack of a water line and how clean the 'glass is, I believe them. The worst part about the "exterior" is the prop - it looks like they ran it into a bar or a rock, but that's OK because there's a new prop in a box (not pictured, he brought it in to us after I took the photos) that goes with the boat for you. We have not put it in water - like I said, we're in the mountains of Maryland, but I don't see any marks or spots on the hull that look like they'd give any leak problems at all. This is a nice clean solid little boat. There is one small stress crack on the transom where it looks like they overtightened one of the bolts, but the inside of the mount has a gusset plate and the bolts simply sandwich the motor mount and the plate, to the fiberglass. I see no signs of impact or accident, it looks like they just overtorqued that bolt. If the new owner is worried about it, they could simply retorque the bolts to be safe, and add some resin to the crack, and I'm sure it would be fine. You can see in the photo gallery how small the crack is.The trailer looks nice - no dings, no bends, no real rust, but the tires have some age (the boat, according to NADA, is only 1400 lbs empty so I wouldn't worry too much right off the bat about those). We have NO TITLE for the trailer - the state where the owner lived does not issue titles for boat trailers. We will provide a bill of sale to the new owner when they come to pick up the rig, so you can get it registered in your home state whether it requires a title or not.If you have any questions about the boat, let me know. I linked to the factory owners manual on the Bayliner site above, but haven't been able to find any specs like beam, draft, etc - presumably due to the age. If I do find any, I'll make sure to post them in the ad. All in all though? This is a nice clean little boat, and being 17' with a nice 120 motor? It oughta scoot nicely out on the water!
