Bayliner Capri 1400

1985 Bayliner Capri 1400 Bowrider with Force 50 two-stroke outboard motor and Escort trailer

This is a great fishing or crabbing boat for bays and rivers. I'm selling it, because I'm married with four children and I need something bigger. It's best for two or three people, but legally can accommadate four adults.

The boat is registerd in my name in Delaware for 2017.The trailer is registered in my name in Delaware until August 2019. I have the title.Everything is legal and legit.

Good condition, recently overhauled motor, well cared for.

The bimini top is two years old. Unfortunately, The interior of the boat is a little outdated and needs a refresh. If you use it as a fishing or crabbing boat like I do, it's hardly an issue, but wouldn't take much time as little winter project to rewrap everything. The steering and throttle move easily and work great. Running lights work. My GPS says it goes 25 mph.

The trailer has one year old tires, a new wiring harness and lights. I rebuilt the hubs and repacked the bearings, and installed bearing buddies last year. I pump grease in after pulling it out of the water every trip.

I overhauled the motor two years ago due to low compression. Alderman Machine in New Castle professionally honed the cylinders and ordered me new Wiesco pistons. I also ordered a complete gasket kit and a new thermostat. I aquired a parts motor and picked the best parts from the two. I am an aircraft mechanic and spent all summer of 2015 rebuilding the engine and probably have about ten trips, around 5 hours each of running it, problem free. If it's been sitting for a week, it takes about fifteen seconds to start. The pulse pump has to kick in. If it was started within a few hours, for the rest of the day, it starts instantly. I reinspected the lower end and water pump this year and they are in great condition. I trust this motor completely and am a little sad to let it go.
