Bayliner Trophy Description. We are selling our 1997 Bayliner Trophy model 2509 due to buying a newer boat. We love this boat, had lots of fun in it and have some regrets in letting it go. This boat was purchased from a family in Georgia who used it on a fresh water lake and it was purchased by us in 2007 as the second owner. Title states the length as 27 feet, former owner stated as 28 feet. It is powered by two 150 Mercury (saltwater series) outboard motors. Motors are two stroke and use mixed gas (50-1)which is mixed in the gas tank (under the floor) and accessed by a cover on the swim platform on the back of the boat. Starts and runs well, trolls down to 2 miles per hour. Engines have stainless steel props in good condition. One of the lower units was new a few years ago due to mechanic noticing some metal shavings in lower unit. I am not certain of engine hours and engines dont have a meter that I know of. We used this boat on Lake of the Woods in northern Minnesota for the past 12 years and it has been relatively free of issues and handled any of the rough water that this large lake produced. It cruises nicely in the low thirties and tops out in the mid 40s. Engines have tilt and trim and boat drafts about 18 inches and can travel in shallow water with the engines tilted. Engines run separately and counter rotate for better thrust and we often used only one engine when trolling for walleye. Boat has a self bailing deck whereas the water will run out the back on its own and the skid free deck can be cleaned with a brush or the wash pump near the back of the boat with the attached hose and sprayer. There are two large compartments in the floor which can be used as coolers and one is converted into a livewell which has a plug and is pumped out by the bilge pump out the side of the boat. Boat has dual batteries and trim tabs which I did not use that much since the boat planes out easily and stays level without many issues. Boat has a cuddy cabin that contains the stereo system, a small hand pump sink (supplied by a fresh water tank) and a porcelain toilet that is hand pumped to flush and flush tank can be emptied by the macerator pump which pumps out the side of the boat. The cuddy cabin has a small table that can be set up or table fits between the seats to form a sleeping area out of the weather. There are excellent storage compartments under the seats and large storage area under the floor of the forward deck. This boat comes completely equipped with a newer large Lowrance sonar/GPS, a separate smaller Lowrance sonar/ GPS, 4 Canon downriggers (2 electric and 2 manual), Raytheon 24 mile radar (I never used) and another Garmin gps (also never used) above the driving area. Boat amply sits 4-6 people on existing seats and we have fished with up to 10 people in the boat. Some of the other benefits of this boat are Sirius radio and cd disc player available, marine band, full set of gauges, full set of lights, driver wiper, hydraulic steering, stainless steel top and sun roof, walk-around front with seat, anchor storage area with anchor and long rope included. On board dual bank battery charger and battery switches, built in tackle storage areas, live well in floor, Danforth compass, swim ladder off large swim platform, removable cooler under cuddy step, about 15 rod holders, plus active rod holders that fit in gunwale, and more. Due to the large number of lights, pumps, gauges, tanks and other mechanical systems , there are a few things that may or may not work due to non use. We are asking $25,000 or best offer. This boat is not perfect but is a great boat for big or small water loads and unloads easily on the galvanized bunk tandem axle trailer. It was pulled by a ton pickup without issue. Boat and trailer are licensed thru 2021. Boat was stored inside for most of its life when not being used, is dependable and ready for use without any work. Call 218-two-four-two-1800 with questions or email email. My name is Scott.
