The boat for sale is a 1997 Aquasport 215 Explorer powered with a 200HP Evinrude OceanPro. The boat is in great condition, but has minor scrapes and scuffs from years of use. Examples would be things such as the rubber bumper guard around the edge of the boat and very minor scuffs in the fiberglass. The gauges also need some work, or to be replaced. Only one of the gauges is missing the glass dome cover. I believe the gauges that aren't working are possibly related to a simple wiring issue. I have owned the boat for four years and have enjoyed many times on the lake. Last year after unloading the boat into the lake and letting it run at idle, it decided to shut off. I was unable to start the motor back and have since had the problem pinpointed to a cracked piston skirt in one of the pistons. Due to a change in career and schedule, I no longer have time to enjoy the lake, and therefore don't need the boat. I have had the repair estimated at $3500.00, which is just rebuilding the engine, but have decided to take this cost off the price of the boat versus having it done myself. The boat also comes with a Magic-Tilt trailer with rollers, equipped with tires with very low miles. I also purchased a new wheel that allows the availability of a spare. The trailer does have some rust on the axles from ocean use, but has not been put in saltwater since have owned. I believe the hydraulic surge brakes may need some work due to the saltwater use, but I have always had the hitch bolted so this was a non-issue. I have always greased the wheel bearings before a trip and have never had the need to replace any. When I purchased the boat, the VRO pump (Oil Pump) had been removed to allow for the pre-mixture of fuel to prevent engine overheating from the problematic pump, shall it fail while underway. I also replaced the fuel water separator and replaced the nylon hydraulic steering lines with braided hose. The boat is also equipped with trim tabs. I have had as many as eight people on the boat and was still able to get onto a plane. The boat also comes with a Lowrance depth finder that I will include. The boat is shown without the two black stripes in one of the photos. My last job was at a graphics company so I decided to add the stripes. The stripes can be removed or left on the the boat, whichever is preferred by the buyer. The Aquasport logo on the side of the boat is also new. This boat came from the factory with neon green and purple graphics that were severely dated; hence the reason for removal. The same colors were also on the trailer but were removed for the same reason. The trailer graphics were redone with the application of high intensity reflective vinyl that dramatically increases visibility at night. The porthole windows are also Plexi-Glass that was severely faded from years in the sun. I applied white window film to these windows to maintain the updated look of the boat, which can be seen in the photos.
