Advantage Ski-Sport

This gorgeous, two owner, jet boat is an 18 foot, 1986 Advantage Ski-Sport. It has the original 454 Chevy engine and a beautiful seven color gel coat design. It was originally purchased new, from the L.A. Boat Show. I purchased it from the original owner in 1998. He liked the boat so much that when he sold this one, he purchased another Advantage boat with the same hull design, but with a 502 motor and a nine color gel coat. The boat has been featured in Hot Boat Magazine 3 times, and placed third in a Bassett header contest.The gel coat is original and is in excellent condition for a boat over 30 years old. There are some dock scratches on the sides (some of the worst have been covered with decals) and some bottom scratches, but theres no major damage. It has never been clear coated and the finish is still very glossy. The engine a 454 Chevy Indmar with tunnel ram intake and 2 Holley 400s was freshened in 2003 with new gaskets, oil pump, etc. The headers, carbs, Mallory electronic ignition, electric Holley fuel pump, and rebuilt Berkeley jet pump have all been replaced in the last seven years. The engine has a lot of hours on it and uses about 1/2 quart of oil per outing, but it cranks and runs smoothly every time.The seats and carpet have been replaced and are in good condition. All the gauges function properly. The boat is very comfortable and reliable, it feels solid and handles well. It is great for cruising or skiing and has pulled everyone from the ages 3 to 60.The trailer is in need of some restoration. Recently it has only been used for short trips. It is the original trailer from Advantage, and was airbrushed to match the boat. There are some rust issues, and the tires are old, but they still hold air. The lights do not work, but magnetic lights are included in the sale.
