This boat doesnt know its age! I have completely overhauled this boat over the past 10 years. The performance of this boat is up there with any of todays models. These are west coast boats built by the predecessor of Wellcraft. These are the largest trailerable cruisers out there. The cabin boasts 610 of head room. The bathroom is enormous compared to todays vessels. Yet there is still enough room for a 9 forward berth and an aft cabin larger than a Queen size mattress. I bought this boat after reading an article about a guy who made it home off the coast of California in 15 foot seas thanks to his Skipjack. I can tell you I have navigated a nasty small craft advisory from Fire Island to Keyport. It was a horrible experience that I wish never to do again, but this boat took it like a champ. The list of what I have done to this boat is extensive so let me begin:
Remounted bow pulpit with 2 stainless supports
Windlass with 200 nylon +10 stainless 3/8chain
Remounted bow rails and resealed with 3M 5200
Replaced hatch cover seals
New Eisenglass with dark smoke plexiglass( I bought the better stuff so I could bend it)
Complete Stainless bimini/flybridge frame with new Sunbrella and plexiglass
Strattoglass windshield for visibility
Complete camper top that covers whole back of boat with opening screens, windows , and doors
Stainless rod pockets , Steering Wheel with stainless Spinner
RAYMARINE C120 Chartplotter, Depth Sounder, Fishfinder, Radar(12 screen, sunlight visible)
New Horn, Fresh water pump new, Holding tank and hoses and fittings new
Cabin lights, Corian counter fillers for stove and sink, new faucets, new toilet, new plumbing hoses
Cabinets rebuilt to be stronger than original
Newer Fridge, Microwave, Replaced walls with Formica to make easy cleaning
All cushions for forward and aft cabins replaced as well as new foam. NO smells at all.
Flybridge seat repainted and reupolstered
Now for the good stuff as if thats not enough!
Both drives completely rebuilt, New Transom shields, Duo prop conversion with A3 props
Motors were completely overhauled and have 160 hours on them since done.
Injector pumps rebuilt, Turbos rebuilt, Starters new, Alternators 1 rebuilt 1 new
New 140 gallon fuel tank, Another 45 gallon original in bow with transfer pump
Racors newer with new filters, 2 starting batteries last year, 1 huge deep cycle for running cabin
New wiring harnesses for each motor, Individually wired to prevent failure of both
2 battery charger when on shore power, All shore power cords- short and 50
Well thats all I can think of now, but back to the boat. It comes standard with all stainless rails, cleats and hardware. Complete set of Outriggers and Downriggers. Fighting Chair and 2 new Aluminum frame folding boat chairs with nice cushions. I have a nice stainless radar arch with 6 stainless rocket launchers that will fit the boat, but I havent had the bottom mount customized to fit the boat yet. I wanted to make sure it cleared the canvas while it was up. All life jackets and throwable devices, New dock lines, fenders, anchors 2, fire extinguishers, and any other gear go with the boat. I do have some replacement parts also that will also go with. Please understand that I have easily over 40k into this boat. There is nothing like the diesels when they wind up. They are quieter than a gas motor under way. The torque out of the hole will definitely impress anyone. Not to mention that they dont eat fuel that bad. They burn about 5 gallons an hour each at cruise 3000 RPM. This will deliver about 28 MPH. This boat is not slow by any means. It is 32 LOA after Bow pulpit and swim platform. The best is that you are not TIED to the marinas. It comes with an all aluminum 2002 ROCKET tri-axle trailer that fits it like a glove. I have driven over 5 hours each way up to the St. Lawrence river without issue through the Catskills. You can go to Lake George, Lake Champlain, Adirondacks, Hudson, or anywhere with ease of mind. Bearings and tires were replaced 2 years ago. Fact is I just dont find the time I used to with the kids getting older. We have some great memories and pictures from when could enjoy this boat. Time to PASS IT ON!
