Grand Banks Yachts was founded in 1956. At that time, the company was known American Marine, Ltd. Its founder, Robert j. Newton and his sons John and Vita - owned shipyard in Hong Kong, where were made of large sailing boats and motor yachts, developed by leading experts in the world: Sparkman & Stevens, William garden, the Gateway by Herreshoff, ray Nantes and others.

In 1962, the shipyard has started the cooperation with Kenneth Smith, another well-known specialist in the field of shipbuilding. Thanks to this cooperation, there appeared a new 36-foot model diesel engine, dubbed Spray. A year later the family Newtons, encouraged by the success of the new yacht, focused their main attention on the release of a new line of yachts under the name of the Grand Banks.

Today the design of the Grand Banks Heritage Series is recognized worldwide and became the symbol of the shipyard. First yacht was made of wood. In 1973, the company opened a new shipyard in Singapore and began to use in the manufacture of fiberglass boats. Grand Banks yachts was such a success with customers that a number of other shipbuilding companies began to imitate the design and style GB, but they were not able to provide the same high level of quality, which we are proud of the Grand Banks.

In 1993, Grand Banks has started to produce new type of boats - lobster boat or cruiser "downeast" - and finally entrenched in the market, releasing a series Eastbay. Due to the outstanding design ray hunt, the washboards, made of teak, dark blue hull with a bright Golden stripe, two powerful diesel engines, at Eastbay simply did not have competitors who could successfully combine timeless design and perfect performance on the water.

In 2001, Grand Banks has released a series Aleutian - a yacht, which is the "floating house", very reliable and equipped with the latest technology.

In each series of the Grand Banks yachts tried to find the ideal and combine it with modern equipment, skilled manual work and the best techniques. That is why the Grand Banks yachts became a symbol around the world and continue to this day to meet high quality standards.
