Below the Main Deck, the vessel divided into 8 watertight compartments designed to prevent progressive flooding in the event of collision or grounding. There are watertight doors and hatches fitted to give access to or through these boundaries. The main structure of the hull up to the Weather Deck fabricated of welded mild steel (BS 4360). The Superstructure and Weather Deck constructed of welded aluminum alloy plate.
