Hi there. This is a vintage 1940's Shell Lake Boat Company wood and canvas boat, model 104 Snipe. It is 14' long and 48" wide at the beam. I do not know the exact year of this boat but it is definitely from the era mentioned and the vin 104675 is stamped in the keel. The stearn is 40" wide. This boat is just beautiful. Check out the stunning woodwork and the amazing condition. This boat is perfectly useable but is more like a museum piece. Perfect for display in a large log home or cabin. This is a very rare opportunity to own a very beautifl piece of history and you won't find another original like this anytime soon. This also comes with the 2 original oars with cast iron locks which are also in amazing condition. There is no rot or significant damage to any of the wood on the boat or the oars. The life jackets are Apco speed boat vests and have normal wear but are actually in quite nice condition as well. Don't miss out on this rare opportunity. Located in Nashwauk, Minnesota 55769. hi
is your 14' Shell Lake Boat co. Snipe still for sale?
thanks
Steve
My father bought one of these boats in the early 1950's. He had a 2 -1/2 hp Johnson motor on it and later put a 1953 5 hp Johnson which we used for years. I the early 1960 he had the boat fiberglassed to add strength and stability. Sometime later on he sold it and we got a runabout. I will cherish all the memories of fishing with my father in that little boat. Truly a classic!
Is this boat still available? Thank you!
