NO RESERVEWe purchased this boat 6 years ago to be used as a prop in an independent feature film. The scenes requiring the boat were cut from the script and the boat has been sitting in our warehouse ever since. We hope it can find a great new home!This is a no reserve auction for a 1953 Feathercraft DeLuxe Runabout with the highly desirable barrel back design. The serial number is DR4 81 53. (DeLuxe Runabout built in April number 81 in the series, 1953 model year). This is a double cockpit hull. 12 1/2' in length. This boat comes with the trailer seen in the photos. The trailer was recently repainted and rewired with new tail lights. The boat also comes with what I believe is the original (Vollrath) steering wheel and stem where the steering cables would wrap around to.The aluminum hull only needs to be sanded and polished and it would be absolutely beautiful. There does not appear to be any serious damaged ares on the hull or any other area on the boat. There are lots of surface scratches and some small dents, nothing major. Please remember, this boat is 63 years old and is in remarkably good shape for its age. The bow light is showing some pitting and there is a small crack on one side of the lens. It appears that some sanding and polishing has been started and it looks like it could be quite successful once completed.Included with this boat are the plywood templates for the seats and transom support. (see photo)The boat and trailer were brought to the West coast from New York State several years ago and has been stored indoors in a climate controlled environment for the entire time we have had the boat. The boat has not been registered in California. The winning buyer will be provided with a bill of sale from the present owner, along with the New York State registration and transfer document signed by the former New York owner.We have never put the boat in water. It seems to look good but can't be certain if there are any small leaks.The boat is to be picked up in Thousand Oaks, CA.
