Good condition for the year. Few scuffs and scratches as expected with a 98(pictures of the 2 worst scratches). Everything works as it should. Original interior is showing its age with probably 1-2 seasons left on the seat bottoms more on the seat backs. Full tune up last fall: plugs, oil, transmission, exhaust hoses and more. Trailer completely gone thru last fall. Great chance to get into a 23 foot Vdrive for little money.
So here is the bad. During a trade evaluation of the boat the dealer thought they heard a abnormal noise from the engine. We immediately took the boat to our servicing MasterCraft dealer to have it looked at. What they found was that the boat has low compression on the #7 cylinder. Its not super low but right at the edge of the allowable 10% variance. 170 psi vs. around 190 on the others. The boat is currently running as it should, we never suspected there was any issue. If I didnt tell you about the compression you would never know. Im just being honest. The motor is likely starting to show internal wear which isnt abnormal for an engine with 900+ hours. The boat starts, idle and pulls as it should. I am pricing the boat based on the fact the dealer recommends a rebuild in the future. The dealer feels the boat has been running like this and will likely run for many more hours. Since no one can predict that, I am willing to takea lotless than comparable boats so you can cover a rebuild if and when it needs it. These boats routinely list from $22,000-24,000. I have the dealers report you are welcome to read. I am happy to explain the issue and answer any questions. You are also welcome to have the boat inspected and whatever else makes you feel comfortable, prior to bidding. You wont find a nicer boat for the money. Any boat of this year and hours could be in the same internal condition and youd never know. With mine I am compensating you for a new engine. I think thats really a fair deal. The MC dealer commented on how clean the boat is and that its one of the nicest 98's they service. Boat has has new 3 year MN license and new tabs on the trailer.
I also have 2600 lbs of ballast I will include at additional cost(2x900 lb. and 1x800 lb. plus pump brand new).
Please email any questions. I am happy to explain the condition as best I can.
