I am selling a 1964 Mark Twain runabout. I restored this boat about 6 years ago and it has been very reliable since. I completely stripped the hull of all fittings andaccessories then wet sanded and buffed it. This boat has hollow core fiberglass stringers so there is obviously no way they can rot. I installed a new marine plywood floor and covered it with Nautilex vinyl floor material. All accessories and fittings were reinstalled using all stainless steel hardware and nearly all electrical wiring was replaced including the enginewiring harness. I installed a 1977 Mercury 1150 (115HP) engine after replacing most wiring anddisassembling, cleaning, greasing, and adjusting the Mercontrol throttle and shifting unit. All of the fuel lines under thecowl and replacing many old engine gaskets. The engine is not rebuilt to the best of my knowledge. The compression is within 10# across all six cylinders. I installed a new 25 gallon permanently mounted gas tank complete with a waterseparating fuel filter. We kept this boat on a Shore Station in northern Wisconsin for three years and for the past three years it has been kept in a storage unit and used very little. The boat comes with a trailer in good condition with a spare tire mounted on the tongue and a tongue jack. It also includes four propellers of different pitch, a prop wrench, fire extinguisher, mooring lines, life preservers, and everything needed to enjoy it on the water. The boat is light and easy to pull with most cars. My family has really enjoyed this boat but I have bought a new (1970) boat and I am currently restoring that one.The boat has some minor chips and scratches and dings and the plexiglass windshield has two small cracks about 3-4" long on the top. I have drilled a very small "stop hole" at the end of each crack and they have been stable for 6 years. It is in very good condition for a 51 year old boat. It always gets a lot of attention when we take it out. The trailer could use a repaint to make it consistent with the condition of the boat. You can see the boat in operation on Youtubeunder Mercury 1150 and 64 Mark Twain on Stone Lake Manitowish Waters WI. I am unable to insert a clickable link for some reason. The boat is currently in Villa Park, IL, but I can deliver it in Manitowish Waters WI, where it is normally kept for no additional charge if that is more convenient. Delivery to other locations can be arranged but contact me for details and a price for delivery prior to bidding.I have a complete photo album on Photobucket documenting the restoration of this boat. Contact me if you are interested in seeing it.
