Classic Grumman G-19 Sportster Aluminum Boat, original Mercury 65 HP 4 cyl outboard motor, and Trailex Aluminum Trailer--Dad purchased all new in 1962. This boat, motor and trailer is in cream-puff, excellent condition, only been in the water 3 times since purchased new. Stored inside. Built from Grumman's famed 6061-T6 aluminum alloy. When heat treated after forming to the full T-6 temper, 6061 offers, by far, the greatest combination of strength and corrosion resistance of the aluminum alloys. Precision construction, flush-riveted displacement hull, heavy battens (keelsons) on inner side of hull, sandwiching the hull halves to a solid keel. Grumman aluminum watercraft is highly respected for its resistance to denting or piercing, this craft no exception. Lightweight, at only 730 lbs., this exact boat won the 300 mi Long Island ocean "marathon" race in 1962. This boat is a rare, classic combination of comfort, durability and roominess. A brilliant performer in any kind of water, this was the proud Flagship of the Grumman 1962 fleet, combining the utmost in pleasure boating, with stability and security. Bow steering, 22" windshield, siphon bailers, reversible walk-thru bow seats, running lights, chocks, cleats and lifting rings, tow shackle, folding stern seats, motor control bracket, self draining motor well, gear and tank locker, sleeping deck for two, salt water treatment. Length is 18' 6" OAL, 19'7" gunwale, max beam 86 1/2", depth is 45" at bow, 37 1/2" mid and 30 1/2" at stern. Lightweight translates to less horsepower to bring this beautiful classic up to speed. Complete with 65 HP 4 cylinder electric-start Mercury outboard motor, and Trailex all aluminum TX-1700 trailer (2050 lb capacity trailer + load). Priced to sell, my family hopes this is a real treat for a connoisseur who appreciates Grumman's beautiful classics from the 1960s.
