Up for auction is my CLASSIC 1972 CHRISCRAFT COMMANDER 42 MOTORYACHT Named "MAGICAL TIMES".
At 42 feet inlengthand 14 foot beam, this design was one of the best selling Motoryachts of all time. Add 2 Staterooms and 2 full baths. It is located at Skipper Bud's Brokerage at Northpoint Marina in Zion Illinois. It is listed for $18,995.00 the same as the "Buy it Now" Price.
The Boat Drives from either the upper or lower station (dual controls) and the motors have +- 1100 hours total time.
I put over $800 in gas a couple weeks ago, I have a recent survey that cost me $800 that I will turn over to the buyer after payment is received.
The Survey values the boat at $20,000.00. I am going to start the bid at $10,000.00 and let it go to the high bidder.
It has new canvas, shows well, and working A/C. Everything goes, I keep nothing.
It has to be moved to a different slip or marina. There is no dockage included.
I bought this from a Widow. Her husband was quite the Mariner and they owned it many years.
I have all the documentation and paperwork from almost new.
As you can see, this boat dwarfs everything around it. It is a giant floating condominium.
It starts and runs fine and drives well for a boat of this size.

Somenotablefeatures and trivia:
This Yacht has twin 300 Horsepower Shelby Cobra Jet Motors. They are the correct cores if you were doing a 1972 Shelby replica (or original) restoration.
If you search youtube, there is a video of a guy cutting a gaping hole in the side of the same kind of yacht to cherry pick the motors.
There is a generator which I have not tried to start that I suspect will run just fine.
Both fridges work, and there is a 20 gallon electric hot water heater. The owners bought this in Ohio and transported it back to Lake Michigan many years ago.
It has been docked and stored at Northpoint Marina in Winthrop Harbor Illinois for many years.
I just bought it this spring and don't get to use it as much as I would like to. I have been considering taking it to Florida and restoring it this winter.Anyhow thanks for looking. This Chriscraft is a huge piece of History.
