Up for no reserve auction! This is a sweet riding smooth running head turner! The boat has been completely renovated. The transom has been completely removed and beefed up. The black sparkle gel coat was completely redone and looks awesome! New carpet. Stringers were re-glassed. No soft spots anywhere on the boat! Mercury outboard runs excellent and starts right up every time. It has even compression and runs flawless through out rpm range. Shifts easily and smoothly. Lower unit has no leaks. Telltale pisses w pressure. Jack plate puts outboard about a foot back from its original position on transom. J/P makes for a more stable/smooth ride. Perfect match for this boat with the stepped hull and power tilt and trim, it will fly over most any bay chop like walking on air. If You know anything about Checkmates, you know they have a fast hull. You may also know(or not) that they were notorious for having weak transoms. They typically had coast guard regulation plates that had higher horsepower ratings than the transoms could really hold. This one is rated at 300 hp. I am certain the transom in this boat would hold 2 300,s now, if you wanted! It will easily hold a four stroke 300 getting you triple digits! As it sits, it cruises at 45 nicely and tops out at about 55+ with the included aluminum prop. I opted for better hole shot as i typically pull the kids tubing(speed prop would add mph). The guy who rebuilt the transom was from Florida. The boat is pictured in a speedboat magazine article(which is include) and i have step by step documentation of all work preformed(its literally a book). The boat was gone over by my mechanic when I bought it last summer to the tune of 2k. Work was done by a local mercury outboard specialist Corkys Marine of Ocean City NJ. The trailer looks custom to the boat. It has bearing buddies and i will include new lights and one new tire(the other looks new )so you will be able to take it wherever u like safely. The gps pictured was never hooked up by me so i dont know if it works or not. The bilge needs replace. All guages work. Running and anchor lights are not hooked up. Bought the boat from a guy who used it in a fresh water lake in PA. I used it one year in salt water. I dont know how many owners she has had.
I have my merchant marine captains license and have owned boats since i was 16. Thats 30 yrs experienced & this boat runs and drives like a dream. The reason im selling is because im going to take the family fishing more this year and I dont have the heart to pull stripers on the boat(at least any more lol). The boat is NOT up for sale locally,,,dont bother calling me with a buy it now price because i wont give one. This boat will go to the highest bidder! There is no reserve! Winning bidder will be required to put down 300 toward Paypal immediately after transaction.. DO NOT BID UNLESS YOU INTEND ON GIVING ME CASH 7 DAYS WITHIN TIME OF SALE.......i may be able to work w you on the seven days a little but not much(call first). You can call me at phone w/ questions and I also have videos of the boat running awesome and pulling the kids from last summer(and other pictures if you like).
Thanks for reading, good luck, and bid with confidence,,9+of 10!
