I have really loved this boat and have done several long cruises on inland rivers and lakes in it but I needed a larger boat to do additional sections of the "Great Loop" which involve open coastal waters so now have a 24 ft wood lapstrake and the Carver is taking up space in my storage building. I purchased it in 2009 from the son of the original owner in Indiana where it had been stored inside for many years after the father's death with very few hours of use. I had the hull and brightwork restored by the Wood Boat Shop in Welaka, Florida in 2010 and replaced all the original upholstery in 2012. It is powered by the original Mercruiser iron duke 4 cylinder, 110 hp engine with an updated Alpha one, gen one outdrive. The outdrive was updated in order to provide hydralic motor trim which was not provided with the original outdrive. It has a stainless prop and at least 2 spare props will come with the boat. It has a marine radio and Garmin 545 GPS/ chartplotter. I also have complete maintenance records by a certified mercruiser shop since my purchase of the boat. It has the original complete camper top with full side curtains and an upholstered sleeping cuddy space in the bow. The center portion of the windshield folds down forward and folds forward again to provide a center walkthru to the front deck. The trailer is a Trailrite single axle with electric brakes and I have updated to LED rear lighting. A set of boat fenders and an anchor with rode are included. It has a bilge blower and bilge pump. All appropriate running lights, spotlight and windshield wiper. It has always been stored indoors and is ready to go to work without any repair or replacements for either short or long trips.
If you want to inspect the boat in person please call me at phone for an appointment and I will run the engine for you on a temporary water hookup but I will not provide any in-water demonstrations. However, if the buyer wants me to demonstrate the boat in the water I am willing to do that. I am also willing to deliver the boat a reasonable distance for my travel expenses and if you need to know what that would be please give me a call.
The following is information provided by the factory on these model boats:
"High standards of workmanship and quality have always been a carver tradition throughout their many years of exclusive boat manufacturing. Boats designed and constructed by master craftsmen bring you a superbly finished and up-to-date product unexcelled for performance and years of carefree recreation.
Carver hulls are constructed of five ply, marine grade plywood with a plastic overlay to give you the finest and most durable finish available. A three piece laminated oak keel and solid oak ribs locked with bold and nut brass fastings give the rugged construction necessary to accommodate todays high performance motors.
Your family will enjoy the ease and convenience of a walk-through hatch when boarding or leaving your craft. Ample builtin storage space for extra equiptment stowage and maintenance free vinyl used to beautify and protect exposed areas add to the long list of features.
To insure years of carefree boating every carver hull is factory treated with wood preservative solvent. This new process eliminates the possibility of discoloration and deterioration in the bilge and covered areas of the hull and means that your boat will retain its strength season after season."
I will accept postal money orders or cash as final payment.
