total restoration of this classic from top to bottem by marine tech with over forty years working in the marine trade.. As the pictures show the story Ifound this boat in a marina storage yard ,, been sitting there for all of 15 years uncovered ,my son and I brought the boat home asyou can see in the pictures it was a mess. The amazing thing was that weput a battery in it ,turned it over and it had 130 lbs compression ,checked the spark and was firing on all cylinders ,so we hooked up a fuel tank and it started right up and ran ,, two days later it wasback in the water .that was last September we pulled it and winterized it andtarped it for the winter. this spring we pulled it in the shop and startedtaking it apart .The boat was totally stripped,, sanded out, all holes were filled with marine texepoxy ,, the nonskid deck and the bottem was sealed with two coats ofinterlux 2000e primer , that seals the fiberglass so no more water intrusion ever ,,,the boat was then primed with epoxy primer and painted with single stage acrylic urethane with flex additive .. deck has three coats of intelux interdeck nonskid white and bottem is done with interlux NT bottemcoat ,three coats. A new factory rub rail was installed with 3M 5200 caulk ,,,, all the wood is new except the rps seat back witch was still in good shape with three or four coats of spar varnish . I had the seats done by the canvas guy in town with new cream color marine vinyl . replaced the two 6gal fuel tanks with a tempo 24 gal fuel tank made for the boat with new fuel line ,, the new battery was relocated under the console to get it off the deck and out of the way and new 20ft of battery cable was installed, new switch panel with an outlet for spot light or charging your phone ,, new binicle mount compass andOMC shifter with tilt and trim with new control cables .. new 500 gal per hour rule bilge pump was also installed. Orginal boston whale bow light and stern light brackets all solid stainless ,, they are very proud of them things !! bow light was 287.00 alone !! It must weigh 5 lbs anyway.but it realy set the boat off instead of the cheepy one I was going toinstall on it .. factory Boston Whaler decales,
the engine that came on the boatwas a 1982 70 hp Johnson that we disassembled ,, sand blasted ,zinkcromate primed and painted with factory paint and clearcoated new decales installed . engine cyl were in good shape they were honed and new cyramic coated pistons and rings installed .new piston pins ,rod and crank bearings , crank seals and gaskets,, carbs redone with main jets opened up .0002 of an inch , make them run better with the crap gas we now get ,, new water pump kit installed,, lower unit pressure checked was ok and synthic gear oil filled ,, I installed a factory tilt and trim unit on the engine as it didn't have one stock ,, and topped it off with a stainless prop
trailer was replaced with a heavier unit,, was torn down extra cross member wielded in blasted primed and painted ,, newtounge jack, lights and wiring, bunk carpet ,guides and winch strap
I have more pictures with it all done ,, about a hundred !! not enough room here give me a call and I can send more with it all complete
