Up for bid is the Amazing Jill Marie. She's a 1962 SeaKing inboard/outboard engine, aluminum hulled awesome little craft. This little boat was purchased a few years ago for an adventure I underwent last year. READ UP...this will tell you how reliable she is. This boat was piloted from Chicago to the Land Between the Lakes via the Illinois River, the Mississippi River and the Cumberland River. Every single day for a week, she was driven over 100 miles without fail. She starts and runs great! Not once have I had to turn a single wrench on this boat with the exception of oil changes and such. I've had her out a couple of times this year and she runs perfect. Sometimes she is a little groggy (especially on the first trip out for the year) so you have to keep her at idle for a little while, but once the fuel works back thru the system, the is raring to go!I purchased this boat form a guy in Oklahoma. He purchased it from the Army Corps of Engineers...they used the boat for several years until he bought it from them. The flooring had been ripped up when I bought her, so I replaced the floor with recycled wood to give her that "Rat Rod" look. I also constructed a cover for the engine since the original cover was taken off by the Army Corps. I installed a blower with the cover as well. The factory seats have long since been removed, but due to the high bow, I always stand anyway. I have a couple of removable metal chairs on board that I use when I want to sit, and they will remain with the boat. The little engine is truly bullet-proof...starts and runs awesome every time. My mechanic tells me that there was once a road racing class that only used this engine! On board there is a cuddy area, tall enough to sit straight up and have a nice picnic. For my trip I installed a Cobra marine radio that works perfect for listening to barge traffic or hailing the locks. It also has a Garmin 536 GPS system that makes finding your way home easy. With the boat I will include some life jackets, side bumpers and an anchor with rope.I hate to see this old gal go, but ultimately I need the space. This boat isn't for everyone, for for those of you who like old school cruising, there is no more romantic way to see the water than on-board this great little boat. Ok, to the nitty gritty stuff...my starting bid is basically the reserve. The starting bid is substantially less than I gave for the boat, but I do need to sell it, so that's the reason for the starting price. As always, don't bid if you can't buy. I have been as honest as possible about the condition, photos, etc and will gladly answer any questions you may have. DELIVERY - I will gladly bring the boat to you within a 100 mile range of Lexington, KY. Otherwise, it is up to you to arrange pick-up or delivery. I like to travel and am always up for a road-trip, so if you want to discuss having me deliver the boat to you, then please contact me at least 48 hours PRIOR TO AUCTION ENDING. I may be able to work out a delivery for a small fee, but you need to make these arrangements with me before you bid. Please plan on picking up the boat within two weeks of the auction end.
